Integration and Going Forward

After completing eleven interconnected Thriving Abroad™ courses, this culminating experience helps students pause, reflect, and integrate everything they’ve learned into a practical, personal plan they can act on. Rather than adding more content, Integration & Going Forward guides students in synthesizing insights across grounding, strengths, leadership, resilience, communication, academics, finances, legal literacy, and support systems—transforming learning into lived practice.

This course is the bridge between knowing and doing, giving students the structure, clarity, and confidence to move forward with intention.

Course Overview

This capstone course leads students through a three‑part process—Reflect, Connect, and Act—to help them consolidate their learning and build a 30‑60‑90 day plan for thriving abroad. Through guided reflection, structured planning tools, and community‑building activities, students identify what matters most, set meaningful goals, and map the support systems that will sustain them.

You’ll explore:

Synthesizing What You’ve Learned

Look back across all eleven pillars—Grounding, Values, Strengths, Leadership, Culture, Resilience, Communication, Academics, Finances, Legal Literacy, and Support Systems—and identify the insights that genuinely shaped your experience.

Seeing How the Pillars Connect

Understand how inner stability fuels outer action, how strengths guide leadership and relationships, and how practical literacies reduce friction so you can focus on growth. Students discover that thriving abroad is not eleven skills—it’s one integrated way of living.

Building Your 30‑60‑90 Day Action Plan

Create a simple, time‑bound plan that stages your next steps: 30 Days: Stabilize; 60 Days: Connect; 90 Days: Thrive.
Each stage includes commitments, success signals, and space to adjust as life evolves.

Setting Goals That Stick

Turn intentions into SMART goals—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time‑bound—so progress becomes visible and sustainable.

Mapping Your Support System

Identify real people, services, and practices across five circles of support—personal, campus, community, professional, and self‑care—so you never have to navigate challenges alone.

Staying Resilient & Accountable

Learn how to adapt your plan when setbacks arise, track small wins, and use accountability partners to maintain momentum.
